Samsung Omnia – A New Innovation On Smart Phones.

Considering there has been a swarm of touch screen smart phones out in the market, yet alone the powerful iPhone, Samsung has created an ingenious phone that could take down the big Apple logo.

Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, Omnia also gives its users the Microsoft Office wherein one can use Microsoft Outlook to check their emails. Setting up POP servers and web-based e-mail clients would be easy when used. The Omnia also features an IM or instant messenger client such as Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, and AIM. With its Wi-Fi ready program, users can now surf or browse the internet as long as they are in a hotspot.

SMS would be a bit difficult for those who are not yet familiar with the touch screen device of Omnia. And although, I must admit, the letters would be a bit hard to press and one would usually click on the wrong letter. But, once familiar with the device, users can type in SMS without flaws.

The Omnia’s 5-Megapixel camera is activated once you click the button at its spine. The camera has auto focus and a power LED flash. It’s main advantage over other phones are its features which include white balance and its modes such as Sports, Sunset, and Night Shots. Video quality is as good as the still pictures as well.

With its elegant chrome look, 3.2-inch, 640-by-480-pixel-resolution touch screen occupies most of the space on its 4.4-by-2.2-by-0.5-inch body, weighing 4.3 ounces, 8GB of internal flash memory, and a MicroSD slot, the Samsung Omnia has the right edge to win the race of the touch screen smart phones.
